There are few cases where the RMV mis-applies the law and it is possible to get the suspension vacated or reduced. However, in most cases, the suspension legnth is mandatory. The length of the suspension will usually determine when you can apply for a <a href="http://www.rmvlawyer.com/" rel="nofollow">hardship license</a>.
